Paraplegic Foundation is a non profit organization dedicated to help the orthopaedically
disabled communities.It does all these by the donation which you give generously to help Orthopaedically diasbled.
It provides an oppourtunity for the humanity to

Orthopaedically disabled more then ever for Paraplegic disabled people and
we have volunteers to help you as your guide. We are the volunteers that
collect donation for Orthopaedically disabled that you give as your unwanted clothing, medicines, books and other items. Really
any donation of value that can help the Orthopaedically disabled people.
The foundation has been winning applause for its selfless
services to the needy and distressed people in Mumbai. The institution is
getting good response and donation to help these orthopaedically disabled due to its preparedness to

Our mission is not just to give education and to cater for

As usual tea twice a day and
free lunch was provided to the Foundation’s staff.
Donations towards their facilities came from
Shraddha Foundation and Sunday Friends members,
Hasmukhrai & Co, as well as individuals
donors.

Conveyance Allowance of Rs
100/- p.mth was given to all Workshop
beneficiaries after they completed training.
Dwelling Allowance of Rs 200/- pmth was also given
to beneficiaries not living in institutions. All
the staff at the Sion Centre continued to receive
Rs 150/- p.mth as Conveyance Allowance.
In
addition to the above, five beneficiaries spending
more than Rs 100/- pmth for commuting to work,
received additional amounts at actuals from the
Paraplegic Foundation Welfare
Fund.

The two beneficaries serving as
delivery boys to the Sales Counters received a
special allowance for long distance
delivery. |

Beneficaries needing medical
and educational assistance (for themselves or
their children) were helped through the Kisan
Vaswani Fund. |

Donation by a sponsor towards
the upkeep of the Asst Workshop Supervisor’s child
continued until the end of December
2003. |

Regular medical
check–ups of the beneficaries and of the staff, as
when required, continued as in the past. |

The Orthopaedically disabled
patients accomodated in the Health Harmony
Extension Project were daily given milk
and protein powder. The Shraddha Foundation
Milk Scheme contributed a major share
towards the milk expenses, while the
Sunday Friends Group provided the protein
powder and also arranged for some of
the medicines needed by the Orthopaedically
disabled patients. |

obtained from Vasantbhai Kanakia for distribution
among some of the highly deserving Workshop
beneficiaries during the lean periods of the
Workshop’s functioning |

of making the public aware of
the problems and the potential
of the disabled, at the same time
giving the latter the chance to

normal lives despite their handicaps
and to reveal their latent talents. |

Get – together of Donors and
Well wishers
A get - togetherwas held on
Sunday 17th August 2003 morning to thank our
donors and well wishers who always come forward
with their support for the Foundation’s
activities. Their valuable contribution was duly
acknowledged and an entertainment programme was
held in their honour, in which the Foundation’s
beneficiaries gave a colourful and much
appreciated performance. The programme was
sponsored by Hari Om Donors, Group at the
initiative of their member, Vijaybhai
Nagrath. |

Beneficiaries
Children of the Don Bosco High
School gave a dance programme
for the Orthopaedically disabled
patients and Workshop beneficiaries
of the Foundation on 8th Nov 03.
They followed it up with distribution
of Snacks to all. Their gesture
was much appreciated. |

Entertainment
Programme by Adopted Children
The
availability of Kalamanch enabled the Foundation
to offer its premises to the Indian Association
for Promotion of Adoption & Child Welfare
(IAPA) for holding a function showcasing the
talents of adopted children on 15th Nov 03. The
programme was part of IAPA’s annual Adoption
Awareness Week. It was enjoyed by everyone and
provided on opportunity for interaction between
the two NGO’s. |
